| I joined Xanga a long time ago, but quickly got busy with everyday life and forgot all about doing my own blog. There are a few blogs I read daily, but just never got back to doing my own. I thought that it was about time I introduced myself. :)
I am 40, married, with four boys, ages 19, 18, 13, and 4. (Remarriage led to the four year old!) I currently work part time out of my home. DH is an engineer, working in research and development.
It is an interesting life, being a mom to kids with such age differences. On one hand I am dealing with older kids, starting their adult lives, and on the other hand, I am knee deep in preschool projects and elementary school graduation!
We are currently learning all about being the parents of a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our 4 year old with diagnosed with an ASD in November of last year. We had suspected he had an ASD for some time, so it came as no surprise to us. He is a great kid, but has multiple quirky behaviors and can be a bit of a challenge. Our lives now revolve around routine and any break in the routine leads to chaos, quickly. I am not exactly routine driven, so it has been a difficult change to adapt to, but a necessary one for him.
We live in Southern California. It is a great place to live, as you have beaches, mountains, and deserts all within quick driving distance, and the weather is usually pleasant. I would actually love to move somewhere with 4 defined seasons, but we both grew up here and have lots of family close, so that keeps us here. One day we may just up and move, who knows!
So...there is a small bit of who I am. I will certainly share more as time goes on.
